A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!

Title: Fun with Artmom
Project Leader: fun2cook
Relative Difficulty: Irrelevant
Type Restrictions: Any Type
Medium: Any Medium
Subject: Portrait
Days open for signups: Always
Maximum participants allowed: Unlimited

Description:

Here's a project for those of us who are interested in portraiture art. Several people have expressed an interest in painting Lyn Cherry's (AKA: Thelma of Thelma and Louise, The Other Lyn, Tennessee Lyn, Bellshill Lass) portrait. This is your opportunity ... so grab your brushes and let the paint (or whatever medium you chose) fly!

Oh, its in the watercolour channel but all mediums and all skill levels are welcome to join this project.

Have fun!

Additional Information:

For more information on the project: Click here! (http://www.wetcanvas.com//Community/Projects/browse_details.php?proj_id=589)

Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.

This is the first time I have participated in a project since I joined a few months ago. I had pretty much given up on being able to use traditional art materials due to my allergies. I was very happy to find that Photoshop allows me to draw and paint without exposure to the allergens.

I hope you like it. :)

Hi Barb. This is wonderful. I like the textured effect. Cool that you can express yourself artistically through digital work. Very nice. Hope you enjoy the project system. There are so many things to do on this site. Welcome.

Here's mine! This is watercolor on 11"x15" Arches, with a limited pallette of just 3 colors: Alizarin Crimson, New Gamboge and FUB. The eyes and glasses were a HUGE challenge as they are not very clear in the photo, but that infectious smile was EASY!!:D

Nandie, :D

By the way, Samantha Lyn (oldest granddaughter) was home this weekend and really liked this portrait and thought it was very interesting that both you and Fun2cook chose to portray me in purple. She wanted to know how ya'll knew that was my favorite color along with teal (turquoise). LOL

Again, thanks.

Barb, I like the "washy" look of this one. One nit, I'd like to see a division under the second chin, between chin and top of blouse. LOL

Thanks for taking the time to do this.

WOW!!! You really did a nice job! The only thing that you didn't capture that you might have in real life is that my eyes are a bit larger than shows in the photo (because of the glasses I guess.)

Excellent texture on the velvet, too.

You and your niece are certainly talented folk. Thank you so much for having "Fun with Artmom!"

Welcome to WetCanvas! :D

Lisa, this is a lovely drawing! I think the hair is great. If this is not an interpretive portrait of me, you might wish to post it in the Portrait or Drawing Forum. Not many folk visit this Project and I'm afraid you won't get the recognition you deserve. :)

Look forward to seeing more of your work! What part of Tennessee are you in?
