I just splurged and bought my first Arches watercolor block. I need some tips though, In the past I have bought other blocks and have yet to find a good way to remove the finished painting. I have torn quite a few edges. I would love a few hints from those of you who are experienced in using these blocks. Thanks!

I've only used the 4x6 inch size blocks. To remove the sheets from them you slip a butter knife under the top sheet at the top where the cover hinges, then run the knife around the edges. I hope this helps. Sandy

Just insert a dull knife between the pages in the notch at the top of the block, and slice around the edges. I've never had a tear.

Any dull knife should work - I use a crab knife but only because I've resigned from picking any more crab. There should be a slot at the top to slip the knife in and just go slow.
