MY COMMENTS:
This drawing was sketched by my 11 year old daughter, from the actress who played cleopatra in a movie.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
She would love your feedback and hints on how to improve her drawing. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Wow.
This is wonderful - - great lines and shading. Plus, it's a superb likeness and expression.

My suggestions are as follows:
The head should throw a much deeper shadow on the neck, under the chin. Under the nose there is usually a shadow. Dont be afraid of shadows. :)
The cheekbones need highlights, the chin needs a highlight. The tip and bridge of the nose will usually have the lightest highlights of all.
These highlights & shadows will make the face appear more 3-dimensional instead of flat.

The background doesn't have to be detailed - - but see how nice the white background looks against her black hair? I would put some medium shades on the background where it rests against the hat/crown --- for contrast. Something vague, unreal - just a hint. Simply to make the crown pop forward in space and be more noticeable.

great job for an aspiring young artist...I think remembering to draw what you see and not what you 'think' you see or what your mind says it should look like is always important!! :)
