Madonna and Child
1999 50"x38"
Acrylic and Oil Stick on Canvas

This painting caused quite a stink at our annual Faculty Art Show (I'm an art teacher).

Do you think it's stink worthy?

Tod, please ensure your images are no larger than 500 pixels in width or height. I've resized this one. Thanks! -- Roan

Defintely "stink" worthy! Worth painting, and worth stirring things up over... It illustrates that Mary was a woman who lost her son... I taught RC Catechism and I can appreciate the reverent having a problem with this... But, I see no disrespect... Just a brilliant, powerful painting about two people who continue to touch us all!

I appreciate the votes of confidence! Jeanine really gets it AND she has a cute haircut.

Thanks for making me feel welcomed.

In my book, stink is good. Although, I prefer stank.

Great piece. Welcome, Todd.

I love the illustrative quality to this painting. It was bold of you to show this at your school, Bravo!
