Hi all. This face is an ambitious experiment of sorts for me. I want to do some more nudes but I am truly tired of the faceless variety so I decided to try some faces first in hope of being able to incorporate one into a nude. I also decided to try a different technique to make the result look more 'painterly' than my norm so after deciding upon the colors I would use, I took samples of those colors in differing sizes and values and used those samples as my 'brush'. I copied, pasted and streched the colors to create the image so the whole thing came together as a puzzle might.
I like the result but if I ever try it again, I will use layers because making seamless changes is almost impossible.
The second is a remake of something I did a little while back. I think I prefer this version. Shogun

Well, you already know how I feel about this new technique of yours so I'll skip that. this being your first, I think you're on the right path to integrating what you wish to accomplish in the long run regarding your nudes.

I really like the second. It has a Japanese feel to it: A delicate porcelain face with oil kempt hair peering from behind a blossoming tree still scarce from winter.

Nice to see you back around and posting.

Michael, the first composition is my favorite I have seen of yours in a long time. It is moody, with a solemn face peering out at the storm through a water strewn window. You created mystery with the darks and lights which just begs for more interpretation. The limited pallete adds to the intenseness of this piece.

Well Done !

Tam...thank you. I hope you are right about building a path. I don't like knowing that my nudes have been faceless because that they HAVE to be so.
Shogun is derived from Noblis Oblige and I may try to extract another 2-3 works from that. It could use the space. I kinda like it myself:D
Hi Mary, thank you. A fave huh? Neat! Thanks for giving it a real good look:)
Maysun... thank you. Two faces? Ok. I think I know why. Glad you like Shogun as well.;)
