Hey, I'm relatively new here but I'm asking a favor of any artists or art teachers that would be so kind to help me. I am currently working on an Art Ed degree. In one of my bible classes we are writing research papers about how our faith will impact our career. I plan to be an art teacher or find something else to do with art so I want to conduct interviews and this seems like a fantastic place with fantastic people. If you are a Christian or even part of a different faith it would be a great help if you could answer the questions below. The more specific and in depth the better but even short answers will be helpful. You don't have to answer all of them, just answer whatever you think most important or have time for. If you want a more personal interview I could email you the questions or you could just email me your answers at s151448@huntington.edu. I have never tried the private message feature but I suppose that is an option.

This is geared more towards art teachers in schools but if you give private lessons or you just want to answer concerning your own art that would be great too. Here are the questions:

Briefly describe your school system and art program.

Briefly describe your religious/spiritual beliefs.

How do these beliefs guide you as an art teacher/artist?
---Consider: Relationships with students - administration - faculty, classroom management, your view of art, content in lessons, style, etc.

How are you different compared to other teachers/artists because of these beliefs?

Did you go to a religious college/university?

How has the teaching you recieved to earn your degree impacted your teaching/art?

Were there things taught at your college/university about education or art that you have a different view?

Are there other teachers/artists with similar faith that you interact with frequently? If so how does this help?

If there was one thing about art education that you could change, what would it be?

Do you try to teach values, ethics, etc. in the classroom/in your work?

Do you try to incorporate your beliefs into your teaching/art?

Do you encourage exploration of philosophies or religion in art that you study?

What is the biggest decision that you have made concerning your faith and education?

Your favorite thing about teaching?

Your least favorite thing about teaching?

If you know any other artists or teachers of religious faith that might be interested to answer some questions pass this along or help me get in touch with them. Thank you for your time.
