42 x 38, acrylic on canvas. A fun one in-between other ideas.... using color combinations and PINK (which I normally don't like) to challenge myself.

Cheers!

this was quite unexpected.
I rather find it cheerful

This IS cheerful as Greggo points out, the wonderful colors you used make it so. My small nit with this is the value/contrast between the background and the pink sun could be pumped up a bit.

Thanks, Greggo...

Thank you Jim. Believe it or not, the "sun" was brighter and more saturated but it flattened out the picture too much and made the sun sit on the same plane as the leaves. I then made it more subtle to push it backwards into the picture plane and that gave it more depth, IMO. There's a lot of paint on that area due to experimentation with color, saturation, etc.

I wanted this piece to be about the plants, not the sun per se. Thanks for your thoughtful input, in any regard. :-)

I like the fact that the sun doesn't overpower the rest, a really cheerful painting

It is cheerful and fun, Keith, and the sun looks more pale orange than pink on my monitor though. Love this and would hang it in my house in a heartbeat.

Funny, 'fun' was exactly the word that came to mind at my first glance at this piece. Great colors too!

Very pleasing to the eye and the title is perfect.
