Would this definition fit your intention with this submission?

An umbrella term used to distinguish fine art photographs from those made by non-artists for a huge range of purposes, including commercial, scientific, forensic, governmental, and personal. Snapshots capturing everyday life and subjects are a major form of vernacular photography

In college for an Art Degree I had hard time with "labels" and "identifying" types of Art. Alas, as I grow older (and older) I care less now than I did then.
I like some Art, some is OK, some not so much. Some I refuse to look at ...

Is this photograph the art form? Or did you create the machinery? Or both?
I find the idea really interesting of creating "old" photographs that have a theme, especially when they involve a social commentary.
How many plowshares can be made from all that metal?
How many nails to build housing for Bahama? etc...

The appearance of old color photos tends to be a little more blurred and irregular. that forest would be a little yellower. The cracked effect works perfectly as does the border.

For full effect, I suspect a really large version of this would stop viewers to stand still long enough to get the full effect and message.

great piece Art, no matter what you call it.
