I actually have a schedule this week - 9am-2pm (eastern time) minus bathroom breaks.....
On my website - www.rtlampwork.com click on the TorchCam link.
I need some feedback on how visable it is - can you guys see anything, or is it just a big blur? Thanks in advance!
(off to a quick bathroom break)

I saw just a portion of the screen for a second...then it went to the dreaded red X!

Just a red x for me too. I was looking forward to the drying paint effect, lol!

I got something very strange. I slowly got a picture of your glass and your hand. Then it went black and then it opened again with your hand in a different position. Then it went blank and then opened with your hand in still another position.
It is as though it was a laptop showing a slide show....not constant movement like a camcorder.

There it is! The hand of creativity! My only suggestion is if you do most of your work with your mandrel in your right hand, the camera needs to be somewhere else. Not that the back of your hand isn't attractive! :D

I was able to get the picture to load, and I was able to see pretty clearly.
Downside is at least when I loaded it up, the camera is pointed at the side of your hand which was holding the mandrel.. this means that all I saw was your torch, a little flame, and the side of your hand.
Can you reposition the torch cam so we can see more of the action?? (or was this a fluke and you normally hold the mandrel in the other hand?)
Cool addition to your site!

Yes, that is all I see now too. Better than the red X ;)

This is the way it should be. We set up a webcam from a convention we held. The picture refreshes every (x) seconds, decided at setup. It won't be constant motion like a camcorder.

FUN FUN FUN!!!
(the tutorial links on your page are great, too!!!)

It does take a long time to load . . . but . . . I see you! I can see everything. Arms, hands, torch, flame, rod, mandrel, vertical blinds, rods in glasses, jars of (something) . . . Hey . . . it looks like *my* bench! Pretty cool!
It doesn't move like a video though . . . it loads each frame as a separate page reload. Could be just my computer.
(Off to check out your bead links now . . . )

OK! Later on, I'll change the web page to state that it refreshes every 8 seconds (which is where it's at now) It's not a very fast machine - I think it's a Pentium I we drug out of the basement.
I need to just have the picture refresh - right now the whole web page refreshes.
For those watching just a few minutes ago, I made a holly bicone with matching spacers.
back to the glass mines!
p.s. you guys are terrific - I've needed this feedback!

It looks great! I got slide-show shot after slide-show shot. Good angle, good lighting.... ooh, but now the red x is popping up...
Great idea!

Well, you've changed the scenery a little... I see drawn shades with the glow of a setting sun behind them, that is, until the red x shows up!
I just realized something though... if you are working on beads from 9 to 2, and I'm at school from 7 to 3, I'm not gonna see you busy! *sigh* :(
