View Full Version : Last one, I promise. ;)
Same format as the others - 95% of my work is done in pencil on a decidely cheap sketch pad. I am convinced that it must be the tightwad core of my personality. ;)

Ok, right now, stop with that cheap thing. Nothing is cheaper than newsprint, they wrap dead things in it, and it draws just fine.
I like the starts you have. Sounds like you are getting started with charcoal and because of your CHEAP paper, are wondering what all the fuss is about.
You have the hardest part done: You made the marks.
I really believe that no matter what all of us say in here, we REALLY don't know what things will turn out like until we stop painting.
You are approaching with a strong and decided line and that is a lot of the work.
Keep sketching and forget what it is on. You will improve because you are learning what you don't want to do.
Couldn't let this sit with a zero by it. It is a really great begining, especially for a cheapskate.... (takes one to know one!)
