Nothing to do on an Easter Sunday, so I broke out the pastels and experimented. Not a bad result, considering I started with no real composition in mind. 12x9" on peach colored Mi Teintes paper, Charvin pastels.

bartc, welcome to the pastel forum! It's always nice to have a new member join us. Your complimentary colors just sing and your composition looks well thought out. I'm going to move your painting over to the Pastel Studio where it will attract more attention. Not to worry. I'll leave redirect arrows for you so that you do not think I removed your post.

Nicely done! It looks like your peach colored paper was a good choice; there is warmth behind the sky and beneath the ground. I hope there are more like this one in the works!

Nice painting that uses the qualities and beauty of pastels that we all like. Pam

Welcome to the pastel forum! What a lovely way to spend Easter Sunday. For not having a composition in mind before starting, you've done quite well.
