I did this pretty fast on a watercolor paper that I really don't like. It says it is cold press, but works like a hot press. Water would not flow, but considering...I do like it. It took me about 1 hour and 20 mins from drawing to painting. It is a 6 x 8 on 140 lb Fluid 100 watercolor paper. http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/21-Apr-2019/39926-Diesel001_lr.jpg

This has a good solid look to it...and very doggy! Very good watercolour sketch.

Sorry to hear your paper did not perform well. Nevertheless, your painting is outstanding. The variations in value are so well done, the painting "comes alive."

A really fantastic dog pet portrait!
I've found that Fluid brand to be unpredictable for sure. You got great results with Diesel here.

I think this is good! Nice solid head but the paint is quite loose - lovely effect!
