Valri - thanks for hosting! Here are my sketches, directly in ink, 8x11" across the two page spread.

And here is my ultra quick not-really-abstract abstract. Inktense (dry) on grey toned sketchbook paper. I used red, blue, green, and grey.

The ink sketches and this piece together took me less than two hours.

I love the ink sketches but especially LOVE how u made me skinny. Forget abstract. Slim those hips, babe!

Love the sketches this week, EP. My fav is...(drum roll)... the recently deceased Mr. Frog! Runner up is...the painter!

I really like your semi-abstract work. The muted colors and indistinct shapes give me the feeling that some of the story here is shrouded in mystery...or fog. Either way, it's pretty nifty.

All these are remarkable EP, especially your abstraction.

Valri, Connie, and Kay - thank you :)

I added white gel ink to that not-so-abstract:

Love that last sketch with color and white lines. It's graphic but eerily peaceful.

I actually preferred the first version. There was just a subtle suggestion of the scene that you could build on as a viewer.
All present and correct in the sketches. Somehow the old telephone makes a good balance for the stubbled artist guy.

I always love your sketches and I like your not quite abstract abstract and really like the version with the white outline.

I really like both pieces. My favourite sketch, this week, is the frog with the two differently coloured eyes! And your abstract piece reminds me of the collages of the late Henry Matisse. So cool!
