Acrylics on a piece of loose canvas.

I like the weighting of the red and yellow to the right side of the canvas. It seems to emphasize the emptiness around the figure. Sky is beautifully done with those very subtle hints of sunlight spanning the clouds.

Is she looking back one last time, or hesitant to go on, or hesitant to head home. An excellent narrative piece. Home looks to be a bleak place in a bleak geography. Regardless of her motivation looking toward home, I feel for her.

I love that the horizon is slightly off kilter, it gives a slightly unsettling feel to it. Nice texture in the sky too!
