View Full Version : WDE 29 March palm tree WIP

This is the beginning of my painting of the palm tree with coconuts:

I am done with the blocking in with pastel on top of a monotype print, about 20 x 25 cm. It's about 30-40 minutes into the work and I like the way the pastel colours work together with the monotype. What with our change to summer time this week, I am too tired to decide tonight how much looseness I want to leave and how much detail to add. I won't have time to finish up in the next days (and neither comment on all the great entries this week) so I decided to just post this at it is for the time being. C & c welcome.

Wow!! A super exciting abstraction of the tree and its fruits! Looks perfect as is.

Delicious colour, I love pastels as well, its just a pity they are a little bit messy to clean up afterwards. I like the background on to which your pastels are on, are they oil or soft pastels?

Well it's a good start and works nicely as an abstract!

A lovely, vigorous start to this Clea.

(I know what you mean - that lost hour at the weekend really flattened me too! Ugh! ...... taken me all week to catch up!)

So lively!!

And I, too, found the change to daylight savings time took nearly a week to catch up on sleep.
