View Full Version : wde 3/29/19 Beach Sunset

Hand drawn and painted with Artrage, 2400 x 3000 pixels, multiple layers. I do a sketch first, then hide the sketch layer once the painting is complete.

After about 2 to 2 1/2 hours (I am actually able to give an estimate of time this time since it was done in my art class!)

Final (another 30 min or so)

Thanks tyree for hosting this week. You had a lovely group of images to choose from.

You have caught the drama of the sunset here. Good use of graded colours.

Purrrdy! How do you create digi art in art class? Is it a digi art class? Or do you bring an iPad to a traditional media art class?

Thanks everyone for the comments.

It is an all media art class so we have people working in oils, acrylic, pastel, colored pencil, watercolor, and me (digital). I bring my laptop which has a touch screen. I am actually traveling lighter than when I was working in watercolor since I was bringing my laptop to display my reference photo.

The lightest traveling I had was when I first tried digital art and I was just using my smart phone.

I'm lucky, my teacher is flexible and is ok with any media, even ones she has not worked in.

Great digi painting, I like the variety of edges, something I find difficult when attempting digital work.
Your class sounds like fun!

Lovely glowing light Anne - this works well.

I'm glad you find the laptop/touch screen useful - I tried using my desktop touch screen for ArtRage but it was too tiring - works better on the tablet for me, though I can't alter the resolution there.
