A familiar subject (but difficult) with a seldom used media in an unfamiliar style.

Almost exactly 2 hours work, thanks for looking and any comments.

Shane, I absolutely love what you've done for the challenge here. Immense creativity, along with a grounding in the Master's concepts.

Interesting thing: I just posted my painting which (I think) is heavily Cezanne-influenced. How different are our works, even when I think we were responding to some of the same principles. The freedom of art and the miracle of creativity -- so wonderful!

Certainly a tricky reference, running water is challenging, it really suits to this style. I like your short brushstrokes on the green life and the cubist shapes in the rocks. You certainly kept your cool and concentration on this one. Well done.

Love the colours and simple shapes that come together so well to make up this complex scene. Good job!

Whoo now that is cool! It almost looks like a figure with a long tuft of hair splashing down from the forehead.

This works well. It is as your pictures always are, very decorative. For me t’s more reminiscent of Klimt than Cezanne but what the heck!

You've done well here with those cubist rocks and waterfall .... nice work Shane.
