View Full Version : WDE 15 March Great Tower
23 x 50 cm, pastel on Canson mi-teintes Touch:
C & c welcome. I have struggled a bit with the sculpture, I haven't painted many sculptures, yet. I is slightly off and maybe too dark? I might still work a bit on it.

Clea, this is beautiful! I hope you don't change it.

A dramatic take on the evening scene tackled in a bold and painterly way. The sky reminds me of Turner but what really makes it work for me are the dark hues in the foreground, just what you get when looking into a low sun. You did a good job on the tower too. Great contribution to the challenge. Thanks for joining in.

I think this is an excellent painting, Clea. Earth, sea, and sky are all beautiful -- the sun so well reflected in the water, and the ground in front is wonderful. I especially love the different tones in the sky. The sculpture seems very organic to the scene - well done! Bravo!!!

Perfect answer to the challenge. I love the unblended strokes of color. It's a beauty.
Thank you, guys! I tend to agree. After I put the picture into a frame, it seems finished to me.

Don't touch it. It's fantastic just as it is now.
Love what you did with the sky and the reflections in the water. I like the looseness of the scene contrasted with the well defined sculpture.
