The venue for London urban sketchers November sketchcrawl was the Royal Hospital Chelsea. It was a glorious day (unusual for the UK in November :) ) with the sun streaming through the avenue of trees in the adjacent park. The shadows were just too good to ignore.....

Wow! Very nice. Lot's of work there, Ron. I bet that's really beautiful with Autumn colors.

It fit's in with this month's Forum Challenge too (Winter Trees).

That really is a lovely plein air piece!
... and yes, it does fit with this month's challenge, so it's a 'twofer'!

Ron - I've never known how 'Ranelagh' is pronounced - every year (it's always mentioned with Chelsea Flower Show) I want to say 'Raneleigh'!

Very nice, indeed! The high contrast is certainly dramatic coupled with the tunneled recession. Very interesting composition and approach. Well done!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. :) My poor Lamy certainly took some heavy use drawing it.

Maureen - yes, the avenue is the site of the Chelsea Flower Show's tent village - plenty of Pimms and champagne bars...... and even some stuff for gardeners:lol:. I think the name of the park is pronounced Ran-elly.

Thanks Joel. It was a lot less complicated than yours. :)
