If I'm not mistaken, you did start the initiative on a Classical forum, and now it's up and running!
I can't believe I missed that!
Good to see you all,

Thanks for the congrats Matt! Well its about time you showed up! lol. ;) We wouldnt have the forum without all of the support from WC! and its members!
I have been hanging around the Oil Forum lately and I really admire your work. I hope to see some of your famous WIPs around here!
btw - BIG THANKS for the Anders Zorn article. He has a new fan *thanks* to you and the article you wrote. I am a huge WB fan but Zorn's work is equally as intoxicating to me.
Thanks again for putting the article out there. Here it is again if anyone is interested.

I would like to second that. Bravo Vince! Bravo Classical Artists!
I have been playing catchup on all the threads because I have just now noticed that the Classical Art forum exists! I would like to further note that the participation in this forum is just awesome and its wonderful to see that its being put to good use. I might as well make it my homepage, since I seem to need a spoonful of classical art forum with my morning coffee the last couple days. What a great way to start the day!

btw, now that you mention zorn -- Vince, If you're playing around with color these days, or oils specifically, you should try out the Zorn's palette project. It's a good time. I know I learned a lot about mixing, and even more about tricking the eye into interpreting one color as another.
Here's the link to the discussion thread: Zorn Palette Project (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=131236&perpage=15&pagenumber=1)
You may have found this already, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

matt you're missing all the others who had a major hand in pushing the agenda for this forum, including vince, belladonna and those working behind the scenes.

It was never my intention to leave someone out, I just remember a thread a good while back where Vince expressed an opinion that there should be a classical forum. I remember he went through some troubles in that thread.
So, kudos to everyone who made this happen!

i also left out craig...his level headedness explaining the forum to members was invaluable.
