This is Wesley. He was a lovely little pony who helped lots of kids through Riding for the Disable. Sadly we lost him during the last holidays.

A3 size water colour paper with supertooth colorfix primer, bluish grey acrylic paint, then pastel pencils and a little soft pastel. I really had to fight with myself to call him finished at this point. I wanted to keep going, but was worried about overworking him.

Wonderful - looks like he just turned his head to look at us.

Kerri, this is such a lovely tribute to Wesley. I could reach out and stroke that soft nose. The childen are going to miss him so much. Beautiful portrait.

This is so beautiful. What a nice way to pay tribute to such a noble pony. Excellent fur textures! I really like the color palette as well.

I saw this on our FB Horse Group, Kerri, along with the original photo. You have done a wonderful job with this painting. I think you should be proud of it and it is a lovely memorial to Wesley.

:) Thank you all for the lovely comments. It's really gratifying when people like your work.

Cat, you say you saw it on a Facebook Group? Which group is that? Someone else must have put it there. I'd be interested to see who.
