Hello All,
RE- Accent acrylic paints in 2oz bottles

I have been using these paints and I LOVE them - nice consistancy and colors- But there hard to get . Does anyone know of other equally excellent liquid acrylics OR where to find this stuff.
Or does anyone have stories similar
Thanks - Regan

Hi,
I have used Ceracoat acrylic paint for the past several years. They are every bit as good if not better than Accent. I use them on various surfaces including watercolor papers, wood, canvas...
I have been a decorative, tole, folk art painter for about 25 years now and can honestly say they have proven to be the best for me..

I'm so glad you were able to answer that question as I had no idea myself. I thought that with Accent in the word that they were glittery paint or something. (Tammy, showing her dummy side) :D

Thanks Pat and TeAnne. I did get a sample tube of Jo Sonja not to long ago - I'll have to try it out! And I'll check into the Cera coat.
Have a nice Day!:)

Actuallly I think I've tried several of the Cera coat paint and everytime I look around a book I have is doing demos in Jo sonja's. I'm gonna have to get me some of that stuff.

Have you ever done that before? I bought a basic portrait book and didn't realize until I tried the demos in it that they all used Jo sonja's gouache colors, therefore not having them I was left with the deliemma of trying to figure out substitutes for the colors. Not good.
Yep, guess I'm gonna have to get some yet. :D

Actually I've heard that they are pretty good!

Hi Tammy,
I went to the jo sonja site TeAnne posted a link for. It has a very handy conversion chart. Made me more willing to try new paints since I can create the same or maybe better colors. :) .
Have a nice Day Everyone!

I have heard from several reputable dealers that they had gone out of business. I too loved their paints, especially Indian Sky. They seemed to cover better than the others.

HOWEVER, I just cheked, and their site is still up. I haven't been able to brouse it as I keep losing this message when I try. I just typed in "Accent Acrylic Paints" and got 2 sites- the first didn't work, but the second one did. Good Luck - I'm going there now to check it out.

Hi Ausiland,
When did you here they went out of buss.? I heard last year that they changed hands. I can find some of there stuff at Chroma that's probably a local store. And Joann Fabric. But not a regular stock of the stuff. I have purchased from alpine imports
www.alpineimport.com . They actually discouraged futher orders because it was so difficult. You can only get the accents via mail because they can't get the paints either and they sell em!!
I think this paint covers the Best also! I also love indian sky and so many other colors! 1-800-346-3278 is Accent's # it's in New Jersey USA. Anyway I think I called that # and they don't sell to the public but they'll tell you where to find there stuff. I think pearl paint carries it also. I hope they don't fold I love there paint Oh well,
Regan

Hi again Regsart:

I e-mailed Accent when I last posted to you, but they haven't replied yet. I get the feeling that whoever now owns the company doesn't WANT to sell the paint! Maybe they want it to fade out so their own stuff will sell.?
