I would like to learn portrait and animals with pastels pencils. I haven’t seen in the store Books teaching with pastel pencils technic. I have seen beautiful work but i do not know how to start. Is Books for Colors pencils is the same technic? I Want to buy pan pastel too. Is there a place in this forum that can help with the Colors of pastel pencils? I have seen on internet portrait that the artist sta with a Green Colors. Thank you in advance Anne

One artist to follow would be Cuong Nguyen. The link to his website is Cuong (https://www.icuong.com/). If you Google him, you'll see quite a few videos. If you go to Youtube you can search for animal portraits in pastel pencils. Start there.

Go to soft pastel studio and gallery.....scroll down to "White Wolf finished", by online art....I think there is links to his website and videos

I agree, Cuong Nguyen is a first rate artist to study! But I'd also look at Karen Howard's work The link to her website is https://www.zhibit.org/karenhoward. Landscape, still life, portraiture, and wildlife, in equal perfection!

I found in ´Soft pastel archives’ Having a ball using pan pastels. I couldn’t believe the amount of helpfuls informations. The only thing that I am doing is reading and will be for a while. I Still Have a lot to discover in this super forum. Also Watching Cuong Nguyen video. All of you Thank you
