I think I've finished with this, unless anyone has any tips...http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/06-May-2018/2059699-IMG_20180506_121618778.jpg

Very nice overall. The foreground work is my favorite part.

Not sure about the scale of the figures.

The big diagonal tree trunk is well painted but it also leads out of the scene and cuts off the lower left.

Agree with Cliff. The first thing I noticed was the figures, and I'm not sure that it right with this painting. I kind of want to feel like I'm lost and coming up to a clearing.

I think the tree cutting off the lower left is fine. Helps your eye focus on the clearing and light.

Fine work! I like the way the figures work in the painting.
Nice center of interest!

I debated on the figures for days. Originally I thought I would put them in on the shady side, nearly invisible, but went with this. Also the gray on the figures dried considerably darker and I may lighten them up. Would it be wrong, as far as the lighting, to put more details in the tree trunk? Too distracting? I'm so glad you all are here! Lol, self confidence as an artist is hard....

This is even better than your last painting (which I liked) your values are stronger/darker. I do agree with Cliff re the tree, but its a lovely painting.

Beautiful. The figures work for me. The glowing yellow leaves are a real treat.

beautiful.

not sure the sun rays and the shadows show the sun coming from the same place. I would like it better if you softened the diagonal lines of the rays.

Looks great to me. Love the design, the leaves and trunk texture. Is that water in the foreground or part of the path. The highlights make it look reflective to me but the trees are growing out of it so I wasn't sure how to interpret it. .

This is really nice. Just a tad of color would help in the figures ....very gray.
Lovely painting.

Thank you all for the lovely comments and tips. I put a ton of black branches across the canopy to show that they are lit from the other side and lightened up the figures. Yes, there is water in the foreground, as if the river were high. That is actually my favorite part and I wish it were bigger so the next painting will give me a bigger chance at shadowy water. It's really exciting that I still want to do another...http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/09-May-2018/2059699-IMG_20180508_170106164.jpg

Very cool painting. I'm wondering about the branch circled (sorry, I'm not great at photoshop). It seems to be connected to both trees.

Very nice :), You've done a good work overall. Yet, It looks a bit strange the left corner to me, I would expect it to be darker (as the right side) so it gives me a false perspective feeling.
