This is a commission I picked up from a friend on FB after he saw 'Night Dive'. He wants a couple species of dendrobates poison dart frog...dealer's choice on setting. I'm going for a rainforest look. Getting some plants and trunks blocked in...heh, this may take a while.

Thanks y'all. Was able to do a little more work the last couple of days...still a long way to go. Sorry about the lines...fluorescent lights and phone camera.

It's looking nice and exotic!
The tree trunk is wonderful, as are the foreground plants.

Thank you Dianna and Katie.

I've had some time to work on it...full time job and life monopolize my time lol. I was unhappy with some of the early elements and changed some things. Then my OCD grabbed the steerin' wheel and here's where I finally took a break. This must seem like a snails pace to some of y'all.

The painting just vibrates. Those right foreground leaves and vines just glow.

Ahhhh!... you covered up my favourite part! ... really like those lively, soft blue/green brush strokes making that lower central triangle - it was there before the tree grew!

The complements are really working here.

More vines! More vines, many more vines!!!!

Thank you Chris, Maureen and Cliff. It's starting to come together. Yesterday when she got home from work, my wife asked me not to paint any frogs in this one...she said she wants this painting. What about the customer? You can paint him another one. Heh...
