35x45cm hardboard

one stroke made the 'nana, two strokes made the Orange.
Just dabs for grapes. Two flicks of green.

Best I could do, because if I tried to 'seriously' depict still life, it would be laughable.

just shows what a few 'dabs' of paint can produce.....

Fun painting, and I love your background!

Thanks, the background is now totally all black....i had to paint over the Aweful dog I painted around the fruit, made sense to go totally black background.

The background you refer to was another 'failed' image upon which this Still Life was recycled.

I hope that you can still see the colors from underneath? And that it still has the uneven bars of black? I really loved those aspects of it, and the roughness of the edges.

........errrrrrr....yes....you can still see the colours and uneven bars of black, but only in a virtual sense, because I reworked the real artwork and painted the whole background black.

......actually, it would be awesome in Vantablack?.......

Astronomy buff?

I'm missing the background already though, lost in the wild

What will be next for it?

No need for YT - I'm aware of that connection.

But it's inside telescopes too :)

I saw your post on the "Binaries" thread, and then your comment about the vantablack, and had to ask...

I was just curious :)

Ah, I like it better than I thought I might! Love the lighting on the fruits. Nice work!

What kind of black did you end up using? A carbony black (a little sheen)? Or more of an ivory/bone black (more of matte)? Or something warmer (Mars)?

I'm always curious what blacks people use, but it's hard to tell on my little iPad screen. The screen adds shine.

I used Mars Black.

I am so glad you like it.
