I love this, Katie.

It is a wonderful layering of shapes to create a riotous streetscape. The Palm tree on the left is a perfect foil for the buildings. The deep blue sky makes me think of Van Gogh's Café Terrasse la Nuit.

East Sun, Thank you!

When I painted this I was unsure of it and so I immediately painted over it producing another image very similar, (which I posted on WC) but again I was unsure of that one too and did the same...in future I will let things stand for a while longer I think.

Yes, leave it and come back! Once it's painted over, that's it, lost!:(
It's a shame to have lost this one, but at least you still have the file:) ..... a riot and explosion of dynamic colour!

All knife work? - or mix of edge and brush? would be even more impressive on large scale!

Thank you. I actually painted this using a credit card. They are very pliable and easy to use - perfect for painting with.

I almost suggested that - another painter on here always uses his credit cards too!

I bet you got the 'credit card' out of the pair of pants hanging out the window on the third floor.....

I like this abstract realism more than your straight abstract. The layering of color and shapes makes this read so well. Congrats!

I thought it dynamic and bold too! Sad it is gone.
Thanks for the credit card tip.
I have to sit with a work a while too, but have learned to do this ESPECIALLY with paintings I thought have failed somehow. Can find redeeming factors later.

Well a lot of us have done the same thing Katie.;) Glad you have the image. Will you do something with it digitally? I hope so!

thanks Derek, I am glad you like it!

Dreamcatcher..I should put it on my website but I haven't felt like putting anything on there for quite some time and I now have a backlog of stuff for nearly six months work..I've actually forgotten how you do it
