wow This is visually stunning Katie! Is that a little flesh tone sad face near the center? I like the design. It sort of has a A shape composition. You don't see that very often.

oh wow.. the color!
philosophical, 4d maze, beautifully built to lure you in for a walk. are these gremlins benevolent? "on the other hand..."

This is bolder, harder, more aggressive than your usual works, Katie. Nothing wrong with that, just different! It is very expressive and full of activity. Somehow makes me think of machines, industry, not sure why. Maybe even blood on the machine.

Absolutely one of your very best!!

Really different and interesting. Darker than your usual. I like it, especially the way you draw the eye to center with a pale shade surrounded by strong color. For whatever reason, I see sort of a tic-tac-toe motif. It works for me.

Yes, much more vigorous than usual, excellent work!

Stunning! Just enough line work for a little energy movement!

Hi Katie -

Yes, much more aggressive than usual in an attractive way; a new approach, or a one of?

Maybe its because I just finished lunch and I am a foodie, but I see the end of a meal eaten with gusto, with the dinner plate and utensil in muddle upper left, and a part of a peach waiting to be finished in the middle of the table.
The red suggests a red checked tablecloth in an Italian eatery.

I am pretty sure that is not what you intended, but that's just me.

I like it.

Someone said aggressive and I agree with that - aggressive with an edge of hostility - in a brilliant way. One of your best for sure!

Hey, thanks, everyone, for commenting.

Many of you mentioned the painting seemed different somehow, more aggressive...but in a good way. I think sometimes that can happen when I'm painting intuitively and in the 'zone', everything flows effortlessly and that's when I achieve my best work. Also, my new studio position is working well for me.

Artch - yes, I can see a little sad face in there.
Hairy - I'm glad you think so.
Trier - I think you are correct in that it looks like the remnants of a hastily left dinner table lol!

I received some new oil pastels today (Sennelier)which I am excited to try, and I'm also now continuing on with my landscape series.

Love those rich blues and especially that shock of pink. Very cool!
