i heart your colors. in this series you have a consistent feel of a strictly defined mood like a place with walls and roof but the door is wide open. the colors bring a wonderful, silent, obscure twist of... the strange? this is a compliment!

Thanks Milna, glad you like it.

Ronsu18, I will quite happily accept strange as a compliment. It describes me perfectly!

Thanks Jim, I missed seeing your comment earlier, sorry! I have to admit I am having a great time with this collaging malarky!

as part of a series, or as an independent piece, this collage works very well.

I love your collage series. For this one, the way you repeat the circle shapes with various sizes, patterns and paper types is almost symphonic.
Colors beautiful, as always.

This came together very well. I agree you are a natural at collage. I think it can be very creative and satisfying. I like your judgment it how much to add, how much to leave- looks sophisticated. You make me want to try it for myself!:cat:

Thanks Rick, I am enjoying this series and will be continuing with it. I have a huge stack of painted papers to use, I sort of get carried away creating them, playschool style!

Thanks Bilateral, colour has always been a bit of a drug for me. It makes me happy.

Thanks DreamSketcher, I like to play with different formats, just now it is collage, which I have done in the past but as a small proportion of the finished piece. Apart from the creation of the papers, these are almost all collage, which is fun.

The great thing about abstracts for me is that I feel less constrained than when working in an illustrative way. Although I have only worked in an abstract way for the last decade or so, (prior to that my work was very detailed and much more realist in style) I feel that the abstract style is more natural for me, if that makes sense.

I will probably get distracted by something else next week but for now collaging is keeping me focussed. I keep seeing my little printing press tucked away in a corner, hmmm...

This has a “Mardi Gras festival” collage feeling for sure…makes me very happy to view this work.
