Hi all: Girault pastels are intriguing, but I have been unable to find any info on lightfastness or even pigment composition. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.

Girault are a wonderfully pigmented somewhat gritty pastel. The sticks themselves are a bit thinner than average. I don't know the specifics of each hue regarding lightfastness or pigment composition, but I do know the are professional grade pastels used by some of the most successful professional pastel artists in the world; including Richard McKinley, president of IAPS.

Thanks, Peggy. I know some very fine artists use Girault, but I feel honor-bound to use the most lightfast material I can identify. So more specific information would be welcome.

Perhaps you can email your questions to Michele at Pastel Etc (http://www.pasteletc.com/). The link is at the bottom of the column on the left. According to this site Girault pastels are "Pure and permanent hues that cover well." I only wish I had them all. They are wonderful in both texture and color!
