I really like the color blending and those subtle and mysterious vertical lines.

That's very nice. The bull is not angry.

thanks all, a gentle giant indeed, with 'rainbow' ribs, lol
sometimes i think i should just paint with my eyes closed. it may be the only way for me to attain unadulterated abstract.

Bull in the clouds. Looks cool.

I feel that I am cloudgazing at sunset
and a bull seemed to form
very effective

This has a definite pleasurable southwestern feel to it. I hope you'll cross post it over in the SW/W forum, too.

I wonder at the relationship between an ephemeral image of a bull, and a mountain, when things could be clouds, in the presence of the sun. Seems like its presence is passing upon the earth.

Lovely! Looks like a map to me :-)

Yes, I think of a map when I look at it. Lovely colours!

thanks kay, maybe
deep, bv, to see it as soulful
chaya, graph, hadn't thought of that, thanks

Couldn't help but want to impose the image of a bison upon it, not a bull. But it is a bull. Wrong country for historical connotation. Bulls come from Spain, or Crete. Not the US plains. My thought may not be deep, just something already stuck in my mind. The sadness.

But maybe thoughts of cattle ranchers, trigger thoughts of what was displaced.

la, I don't quite understand the need for pure abstract. You are best, to me, at the inner workings of creativity.

I love this. It draws to mind Elaine de Kooning's Standing Bull with respect to palette and subject matter, except your guy has your signature surreal look, beautiful blending of colors and a dreamy feeling that is so attractive.

bv, there's no wrong country for artistic impressionisms, but if it makes you feel any better i did used to have a herd of 40+ bison, with Ben, the bull, who all faired well right here on the prairies and tho their numbers aren't any where near as vast as they once were - what is, besides insects and arachnids.

thanks saje, it isn't a need, really, merely a personal challenge i have yet to satisfactorily complete or become comfortable with. :) it's a fun 'failure' tho, to let a glimmer of content/reality sneak in, no worries.

thanks much bilateral for the lovely thoughts!

I love the color and the puzzle piece composition. It reminds me of lying on a blanket looking for shapes in billowy clouds.
