So I did a painting on a piece of canvas thats 11x14". I don't really have a name for it yet, but when i posted it on my instagram, i put the caption "I've been thinking of cotton candy....think with me"

Acrylic paint on canvas. I used a palette knife and a brush. C & C most certainly welcome.

Very nice. I like the colors and texture. Personally I would like to see more grey/white bottom left, but that's just me.

Bold colors, nice texture and plenty of movement...winning combination for sure.

Thank you guys so much for the compliments. I did varnish it so when I frame it I'll need to use a mat. I was thinking black frame black mat. Or black frame white mat. What do you guys think?

I like the colors, texture and all the energy created in the movement of the knife and brush work.

Question for you. Why does the fact that you varnished the piece make it necessary to use a mat?

The varnish on the piece will stick to the glass of the frame over time. The mat prevents it from touching the glass. Thank you for the compliments :)

Great combination of marks and textures! There is one slight distraction for me in that the wide diagonal line/swipe from bottom left to top right pulls attention from the really lovely passages.

The knife lines through those luscious darks are a great way to create contrasting texture and value. Well done.
