I am most typically a landscape painter but I do dabble some in abstracts, especially in recent years.

powerful colors for powerful emotions
the gentle rising, lifting upwards with hints of red, infers how slow and difficult it can be to 'let it go'.

great piece
rather sad and poignant

but I wonder if the title might also be:
To Forgive That Which Cannot Be Forgotten

Very powerful. The horrors of war, if that was your intent I know not.

What they said. I especially like Gregg's suggestion.

Powerful composition...love the contrasts of the bold red and sedated black, gray, and brown...

Well done! Very powerful work. We get a sense there is so much under the murky surface. It's definitely the work of a landscape painter. Congratulations!

Many thanks Greg, Susan, Jim, Kay, Chaya, Laurel, and Christopher!

One of my main desires is to leave things vague enough that the viewer is allowed to develop their own personal relationship with a piece that may be totally independent and different than my own intentions. So I very much welcome and am delighted to see views on individual feelings associated with this. :D
