This is what happened to "Abstract #118".
It is (still...) acrylics and touches of black marker on newspaper mounted on thicker paper. It's 55X65 cm.

Well, just as in Katie's case, the "Abstract #118" is now no more than a photo and a post on Wetcanvas.....

Cheers!

Love what you've done with it. It was already a rich visual treat colourwise and now you've added Lisa it's perfect

Hey Hairy -

Okay, now its the same, only different. I still like it.

Like a lot of your "portraits" I feel I am in her presence, and that I have known her for awhile. In this one she looks like she has her own opinion of the viewer and that it is somewhat complicated.

Just as a side note, I think I will use your first version, if you don't mind, as a sort of base, or inspiration, for an exercise with the oil sticks. It is hard to get anything done lately, so we shall see if I can force it.

Regards,
Trier

I admit that it turned out to be one of my favorites too. It is framed now and hanging on my wall.
I thank you guys so much!!! http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/05-Feb-2018/1397618-image.jpeg

I guess I called it Lisa after one of my all time favorite songs - Cat Stevens' "Sad Lisa". She sits there, darkness surrounds her. Her black umbrella hanging clumsily from the side of her chair. Maybe "to be or not to be" is what she's asking herself. And the answer must be "to be", judging by the tiny smile on her face.

Hey Trier, yes, go right ahead. With blessings.
However, perhaps you should visit the nearest gallery first. It usually helps to make things flow rather than force them.
Cheers

I like it a lot. Like the painted mat too. The ink marks add interest and mystery.

Hairy - altho i do like this painting, my RA is flaring and I am unable to type much right now. Just started new meds today, so perhaps soon.

Lack of comment does not mean disapproval!

Hairy, while I think Lisa is fantastic, I really liked the original abstract and wish you had kept it.

birds..I hope this is not inapproriate to say, but if your taking Methotrexate by any chance remember to take folic acid with it as it stops the side effects which can be grim with Methotrexate.
