Whelp, I learned a lot about Prismacolor versus Faber-Castell and Windberg surfaces with this piece :)

Prisma's contain a LOT of wax and do not dissolve very well with rubbing alcohol. Prisma Art Stix have even more wax in them than the pencils do.

You really do have to use turps to dissolve Prisma. Thick layers also don't respond to a hot iron as nicely as Fabers do. The wax sticks to the tracing paper in spots instead of settling into the grain. They are noticably softer on this surface and are great for final layers of color. Just be careful if you try the ironing technique :)

Fabers are harder, more powdery and contain much less wax. They dissolve completely in rubbing alcohol and a hot iron forces the pigment down into the marble dust. The iron gives the same look as applying fixative does.

All that said and done, I was unable to try out the suggestion that Arlene made as I had no tooth left to work with :(

I'm still happy with how it turned out and now I have more knowledge and experience to use for the next piece.

Here it is -- Class Queue #3, Squaring Up (9x12):

I like the end result Roan.
The whole piece is impressive.
(I wonder if the tooth fairy has any left over 'tooth'):D

Sure glad you could fix it. I would have like to have seen the ring in the background, but can't be done. Wonder if this lady would like the drawing? I know I would if I was she. Have a catalog?

Nice drawing Roan, love the close up to see the colors you've used.

Catalog? Not sure I follow :)

Dunno if she'd like it 'cause I took quite a few artistic liberties with outfit design (simplified *greatly*), colors and face.

Thanks, Shirl :)

As a matter of fact I think I'll do a list in another reply for anyone who does want to know.
