time to travel back in time to visit one of my very early paintings and to see how time and accrued learning have improved my craft .......one of my very early paintings ( probably my second was copied from a hardy painting I think ) of jaguars thundering down the runway ...and also a take off I witnessed at Woodford that has to remain one of my all time aviation WOW moments when the jag in full burner mode was yanked into the air , turned and gear lifted as soon as it left the ground leaving contrails as it went ( a true sensory overload ) ......the jag I witnessed do the deed was in wrap round cammo but after soul searching and deciding on colours for what I want to do which includes the jaguars roaring head the retirement scheme makes more sense for a very vibrant painting working in oranges and blues ...an old model I built was photographed and duly photoshopped for desired layout .. but as there are a few differences on the spotty jag a sketch was done to work out differences and to start working out the way the gear folds in on the jag as it will be painted in transition

playing with ideas on layout which is where photoshop comes in useful ,,, I like the rear view with burners which was as I saw it but the front view makes a better homage to my original work than the rear view and gives plenty of potential

I like the angle on the front view. If the gear down is your choice, I think I would have it at the gear door closing stage to keep the airframe lines stronger.

the intention is to have the gear at the half way stage to show the jaguars unusual folding undercarriage ... just hope I can do it justice
