View Full Version : Lighthouse

This is for a Roblox game. In the game there is a factory that makes paintings and I asked the creator if he would put one of my paintings in it. He said yes and then I decided to paint something especially for the game. So this is based on a scene in the game and I wanted to make it more realistic. Game rendering is not very realistic so I really had to think a lot about lighting and colours and reflections. I'm really not sure about the reflections. I looked at a lot of pictures and saw a lot of different things. Both lighthouses and moons would create everything from long reflections across the water to no reflection at all.
Maybe I'm worrying too much about it. I could sit and pick at a painting forever lol. Looking for some second opinions on this. Does it work? Should I exaggerate the lighting of the scene more?

Hi. to me the lighthouse appears too close to the cliff, perhaps that could be arranged ?

Hi, I think it works. I agree that normally, that normally, a lighthouse would have been built higher on the cliff to appear at distance better, but if your question is about reflections. ....
The reflection of the moon has more ripples, the reflection of the lighthouse seems a bit less lively. I like the varietion in the ripples on moon reflection better.

Too close to the cliff?
This is by a lake and the player can go in the lighthouse, that's way it's there. lol I will adjust the reflections a bit. Otherwise, it looks okay?

Made a few adjustments.

After more changes, I'm finally satisfied with it. Here is a shot of the painting in the game, and my avatar dressed for Halloween.

Yes that looks very artistic and being an retired sailor I prefer the new lighthouse.
