I am getting twitchy fingers, wanting to return to OPs. I felt I owed it to myself to try some of the drawing classes here at WC, and I have really learned a lot. Not sure I can still draw very well, but at least some basic principles have been cleared up for me.

Last night I dreamed I completed this massive canvas with oil pastels - I was showing it off proudly and was very satisfied. When I woke up this morning, I knew it was time to get my fingers sticky again. Dreaming about painting is a sure sign you've left it for too long! And I've never used canvas in my life for OPs.

These are very nice images, Christel. I like the old store, too. Thank you!

Nice work Christel! I love all the little details around the eye, and beak.

12x16 inches on davinci pro panel. Used mostly senns and some mungyo. I was drawn to the old store and wanted to depict that. I like old buildings. I'm not sure I'm totally done yet with this. getting tunnel vision and need to go look at something else for a bit

on a side note, I'm noticing my style is changing more and more impressionist, definitely looser, raw and gritty.

Thanks Christel for hosting!

Thanks Rich!
Love your landscape. The palette and the raw and gritty suit the African landscape so well.

Wonderful job on the flamingo, Christel! You nailed that special color just perfectly. I love the detail around the eye. That's a WOW! :)

Rich, I must agree that your work looks very Impressionistic here - especially those awesome trees! It truly looks like daubs of paint from one of the masters - love this!

Love those blue shadows under the boulders - you're killing me here! Great job with that wonderful photo!

Awesome work, Christel and Rich! I love the texture on the old store - gives it almost another dimension of physical presence. And the feathers on the flamingo are so very well done.

Thanks Lamar!
I tried the horses, A4

Wow! More like you mastered the horses. Amazing details!

Thanks Rich!

Nice work on the horses, Christel! I love how you captured the scruffy mane on the one in the foreground. :)

Horses are naturally very muscular, and your shading and coloring really sets this off. Excellent work - I'm a big fan of your talent!

I love the movement and airy feel to it. The variation of color in the foreground is wonderful also. Nice work!
