Book Launch and Exhibition "Liberty's War" at the United States Merchant Marine Acadamey at Kings Point NY.
Both the lunch time discussion in the Library and the Launch in the evening at the Museum, were a great success. So nice to meet so many like minded people, but very strange to be called 'sir' so much by the Midshipmen.
After the 'Event' my son Alan and I had a few days in NY, as I can't walk very far I was forced sample the atmosphere in some of the local bars and ale houses. We did however managed a trip round the harbour to see the Statue (last time I saw it was 1959 from the Flight Deck of HMS Victorious) and spent a morning at the 'Met' seeing some great Art.

Thank you all for your comments. My son has a sense of humour, while we were at the Met. he parked me here and said he was just going to nip to the toilet!.

I think so, we saw so much. Just about every famous artist I've ever heard of, and lots more I haven't. Didn't find any Aircraft, and only a couple of old ships, but we were only there for a morning.

it is , I looked it up .. its title is autumn rhythm .. I normally don't like stuff like this but I must say I quite like some of his stuff , he worked by laying the canvas on the ground then hanging tins of paint from the ceiling with holes in and swinging them and generally flicking paint

Certainly not my thing!, and he knows that (Alan) that's why he jokingly said he'd leave me there.
