Hi folks.I just got my first ipad, an ipad pro.Main reason was to try to do an illustrated children's book sometime in the future using digital medium.I am using an apple Pencil and procreate. It seems like a lot of fun so far after a week or so.
Whilst the cartoon type book was the initial goal I've realised you can "paint" as well.
My first two attempts attached.Hope the attachment worked.I used to post on watercolour and gouache a while back. Two different approaches. One looser.
Looking through the paintings here it seems Artrage and Corel paint are particularly good for a painterly approach.
I'll stick with Procreate for the time being.Appreciate any tips for doing a looser style Matisse type painting using that software.
Two paintings are a bar in San Francisco and street scene Vernazza Italy.
Thanks
John

Naturally, I like the "pen and wash" best :)

Well, you have all it takes. You will improve from here. Good luck.

Very nice. I do like the one with the line work better but mainly because the other one doesn't look quite finished, especially in the street area. The upper parts of the buildings look good.
