Oh my goodness, Michael! I think you must be channeling George Inness. The heat and humidity are palpable in this ... might be some crickets chirping too.

I must admit that I've been influenced by tonalist painters! No matter how I begin a landscape, when left to my imagination, I tend to go dark.. Hmm.. Thank you all !

I really, really have a hard crush on the stunning little vignette. Absolutely everything in it works for me. When you go on vacation, it can stay with me (I will provide painting-sitting references----even if I have to make them up).
