View Full Version : Untitled Digital Portrait

Hello everyone. Last time I posted was about 3 months or so.
I introduced myself, and I just found my post today. Yes, I suck.
Honestly, I completely forgot that I registered here, and also forgot to check for replies.
But, I'll be more active now that I'm getting used to the interface.
So, first time posting my one and only Digital Portrait.
Before I post it... let me clear up some things.

1.- My AntiVirus won't allow me to upload the picture from my Desktop to the Site. It says that the site is a malicious site and some stuff I don't understand why won't let me to upload stuff.
Even if I click: "Take the risk" (a clickable button were I grant acces to the site to my files in order to upload the picture) WON'T DO ANYTHING.

2.- I'll post it in URL, so when you click the URL it'll direct you to the picture.

3.- I do not have a Wacom or anything of that kind. What I'm using to paint digitally is a Tablet/Laptop hybrid. Specifically, an HP Pavilion X360 and a $1.00 Stylus.

Without further ado... I present you:
"Untitled" Digital Media: GIMP 2.8

Well... there she is.
I like to paint Portraits. And I've choosed Digital Media to practice my skills.
I know how to do Oil stuff, also Colored Pencils, Acrylic and Watercolor. But honestly, I very much prefer to work with Digital before wasting real-life materials. So I only work with real-life oils for special occassions.
Truth is, that my mom and dad tells me that I use dark colours and that they don't like that. But that's just my palette choice.
I hope to receive criticism, both Constructive and Destructive.

Well, that's all for now.
I hope to meet nice people here. And talk about painting portraits and stuff.

EDIT: See post #9 for the photo. Admin

Hi Juan, we prefer you upload your pictures to wetcanvas rather than link to an external site.

Strange thing... I have Norton and never had trouble uploading to this site, and not sure why antivirus would stop you from uploading anyway. But just now I clicked your link and it says Dangerous Website Blocked.

Hello Yorky, hello Lavender.
I don't know how to solve the issue.
Disabling my antivirus wont do anything.
Same as Lavender, my Antivirus is telling me that this site is a dangerous site when the "upload" window pops up.
Isn't it a problem with the site then?
Because, I can open my link just fine, and my antivirus won't say a thing about being dangerous.

Well... now I realize that I can't edit my post that easy.

I really don't want to double post the same thing, as I know it won't let me upload files from my computer.
So, this post will remain as it is, and some will be able to see my image, and some wont.
Ah sigh.

What PC, operating system and browser are you using?

Don't think has something to do with the issue.
- HP Pavilion
- Windows 10 (Updated to it's latest version)
- Chrome

That's my setup with an Asus laptop. I haven't heard much in the past few weeks but the site was hacked some time ago by a "chatturbate" porn site. Meawhile you can put wetcanvas.com on your browser's "whitelist".

I already did, and still won't let me upload.
I'll try to upload something on the Critic Center, as it is more direct uploading files.

YES! Finally!

She is beautiful, I'll insert the picture here.

Ah! Thank you for uploading the picture in the comments.
Why, yes, she is. That's why I paint in the first place. All sums up to aesthetic purposes.
That's a problem of mine... my only inspiration for Fine Art painting is just that.

Tip: If you can upload it somewhere you can copy the [IMG}...[/IMG] code and paste it into a another thread. That's what I did.

Will do next time.
Thanks for the tip.
Before posting the thread I tried with
<embed> and http code, but neither worked, that's why I opted for a URL that redirected to the image.

Ha, I hope to be able to post normally sometime later.

Ah! That explains it then. Several times when at the coffee shop and checking into WC on my Samsung tablet I have had the shock of my life when that porn site appeared. Never encountered it on my PC. I have an ad blocker installed there and since installing an adblocker on my Samsung I haven't been taken to that site again.
