Hi Everybody

Attached is my second seascape I did between portrait commissions. I love painting the sea with all it's constantly changing personalities! I rendered this from a few different pictures and from memory, so it evolved many times during my painting process. I love painting without being "Married" to a reference. Even though I love doing portraits, it's such a great release from the exactness of portraiture. It's done on a narrow scrap piece of Uart 500 paper utilizing many brands of pastels and pan pastels. Hope you like it!

C&C's always welcomed

Hi Marlene, I live on the East coast, grew up by the shore, and have seen the ocean like this many, many times. I admire the delicacy of your sky and the stronger hues in it picked up in your waves.

Outstanding sense of movement! This definitely portrays the shore break on a rough and windy day. Well done!

Great piece and that coming from one who has spent much time on the Atlantic coastal waters.

You use those colors so well, Marlene! Just as you add a spark of life to your portraits you gave this wave a real sense of motion! Great piece!

There is a lovely connection between the sea and sky and flow through the composition. Love your use of color - reds in particular
