A few years ago I bought a load of cheap Fabriano sketchbooks because they were on offer. There were many different types, so I ended up just grabbing the lot. A couple have dotted pages, which I decided I might as well fill up with pen sketches and doodles. First pages below. :)

Wheee! These are fun!

I think with the dots one can make lines vertically, horizontally, and diagonally :)

The dots actually mesh well with the sketches, especially as the subjects are almost technical in nature (I love those trucks!).

Thanks, Greg. I find these pen sketches seem to drift off a little and things get skewed, but I kind of like that aspect.

Your subjects are proof that you don't have to travel far to find an interesting subject to draw.

I like the electrical box. Brings back memories of watching my Dad work.

Great sketches. I really like the boat hulls and the window! Your ink work is always so good.

So, you shorten the rubber's cardboard casing from the front? I trim it down from the back.

I love the collection of tools.

I am so admirative of your talent!

How talented has one to be, to even make toilets an interesting drawing subject?!!!

Joan: Many thanks. This "ink work" will soon run out as the two pens I bought (Deleter warm grey & cool grey) are no longer being produced in the range, which is a shame because I think they compliment each other very nicely. When they run out, I might have to hit the more popular blacks, which really show up my hatchet job flaws that I tend to drift into, haha.

Raindrop: That's such a lovely little observation. I never really thought about it. It's good to know there are people on this earth that start at the other end, haha. Somehow that makes me feel warmer inside. :)

Vhere: Appreciated, but sadly I do tend to drift and wing it after the five minute mark with these. I think I'm getting a little better at managing my fidgety feelings though, haha.

Provenceaquarelle: Thanks, but you are too kind. Toilets are only interesting to me in the throes of a Scavenger Hunt, hehe. I think that's why I'm enjoying the game as much as I am.

Bleh... another SC page...

Aww thanks, Munin Raven! :)

I like this page, especially the traffic light. Though I'm sure with some of them, one would've time to make a full-blown oil painting (complete with frame) while waiting for them lights to switch from red to green. :D

I hate when they discontinue materials we really depend on! Great sketches from the hunt. Good detail on the money!
