This sunset is my first attempt at sky and clouds.
My second landscape in pastels.

Done on A4 watercolor paper with Rembrandt.

Comments and suggestions welcome as always!

As above and it all works for me, love the central tree.

Very nicely done! Your clouds have a good sense of volume and the colors say "sunset."

Leslie, David, Donna, glad you like it!

I have to say that this is not my mind's creation: I followed an youtube tutorial that explained more or less step by step how to draw it.
I had to use sometimes slightly different colors, and it was all done with sticks while the tutorial used also pastel pencils.

I wanted to "learn" how to approach a landscape with clouds and sunset. Now I feel more confident in case I should try my own, or from a reference.

I also had at some points troubles with the sign of pastels on the paper, I couldn't put anymore pastel on it and if I tried I got dark dots...I had to push down the pastel on the paper with my finger! Maybe you can guess the points, like the bottom-left part, both orange and the light line. But a very high learning curve during making this!

Skies are very inspiring, and pastels are an excellent medium for them- Keep up the good work!

Thanks Ken! Yes, skies are really inspiring, those with a lot of clouds especially! I have such an attraction for clouds, and I loved so much painting them...I found pastels to be wonderful for skies and clouds!

The work is very light and powerful at the same time. I really liked the contrasts between the vibrant orange and the blue cold, especially in the upper left corner. Nice!
