Sundiver, thank you for hosting two weeks in a row. And thank you for the beautiful photos from you last week and others this week. Thank you Team!

I loved the photo of the snail by "iyvonne." Something about it took me back to the stories I've read about snail fossils that are hundreds of millions of years old. Some of these primitive, beautiful snails even left trails of their movements in the fossil record.

Just for fun, I've included a detail. Although both the painting and the detail are reduced in size for Wet Canvas, the detail shows a somewhat higher percentage of the original pixels. This makes it fun to explore.

Procreate app for the painting.

Art Studio app for the crops, collage, and export.

Process:

Virtual acrylic.

Freehand, no tracing, no grid, no smoothing or symmetry or cloning.

No filters or effects. No color intensification or exaggeration.

Nice idea to make an abstract design. Quite a 50s feel to this somehow.

Thanks much tyree and Kay!

Quite a 50s feel to this somehow. Thanks 123harry! A lot of times, I try to put choices into an abstract piece. For this one, I tried to combine the snail and its trail, but there was also the present and the ancient past in my mind. But what I love the most is when other people see beyond and find new choices in a piece. You've given it new life in the fifties!!! I see it too now that you've found it there - thank you for looking!!!

P.S. Harry, do you collect vintage stuff, 50's, etc? I'm wondering because your "Fantasie d'Amour" piece has such an effortless feel to it, as if you have an affinity or familiarity with the Victorian or Edwardian eras you mention with your piece?...
