Here is another foray into the Adventures of Smooth Paper Studies.

This is a yellow ochre colored Mi Tientes.

Oh that's gorgeous light coming through your pine forest! I wish I could use the color of the paper like that instead of fighting it and covering it up. It seems that strongly colored paper likes to have a say in the outcome.

I always cover up those beautiful papers as well...why bother having a gorgeous colored ground then...lol I always think that and i still cover it.

it was nice working with the base paper color as part of the painting.

Nice use of the yellow toned paper! I like to use neutral colored papers like grey or browns and sometimes grey greens because I feel they allow my colors the best latitude. I feel the lighter colored papers diminish my lights whereas the neutrals can come through without posing a threat to the value. Good job!
