Would you mind sharing the size, paper and pastels you've used? Is there a story behind this painting? Was this painted plein aire? Curious minds want to know...

Choppy Waters is 11 x 14 on Pastel Premier Italian Clay. I used a variety of pastels. Terry Ludwig, Sennelier , Great American, and Girault. This was done from a photo taken at Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester, Ma. This is an area I have painted plein air at several times. Wingaersheek is a beautiful beach with rocks and some small dunes. I have been fascinated with painting water in its different forms from smooth and reflective to ocean waves. Unfortunately, where I live there are no rough waves unless there is a storm.

Very nice! I like how you subdued the details in the background so the rocks and waves can shine.
Nicely done, colours are excellent!
