Following useful advice from Chas ,Trumper and Kassal I have taken this one as far as I want. Still small details , refinements to do , nav lights ,aerials, hoist marks etc to add but nothing that will be worth more posts .
I'm pleased with the outcome and grateful for the input from others .
Particularly pleased to have created this Acrylic on canvas from a virtual 3D set up of a model in Blender software .

Thanks Trumper - I am really pleased with it . Had to change the markings a little last night when research showed the up to date weapons fit would never have been seen in their time . (Thank God it wasn't the weapons fit that had to change !)

Some very last minute adjustments and snatched the last chance of some day light ( rain now for two days ahead .)

The last two pics are distorted by evening light and don't reflect the real thing . Hopefully these two are better

Thanks Don . Persistence paid off in the end . Wasn't sure that this one would come out right once I got into it but in the latter stages it finally came to life .
Due thanks to those who offered sound advice and influenced the outcome .

The 'XV' lettering is miles out Neil. If you use the panel lines on the airframe as a vertical pattern and create the shape of an oblong panel Sympathetic to the perspective of the aircraft, it is this 'box' in which the numbers would be orientated. If you review your lettering as if sat inside boxes, you will see what I mean. The advantage with both X & V inside a nominal box is that both letters use the corners of theoretical box, so get a nominal box right and the lettering that follows will be correct.
Otherwise you have made a significant improvement.

That is a very nice painting - you have captured the rock face well, the landscape makes the whole image interesting. I like it.
I am a geologist by training so am qualified to comment on rocks
Aeroplanes - I am a learner.

Thanks Ian - good to know I got that bit right . I've never made the walk in to this exact location but saw a Tornado flying into it from the far end of the painting . I found a book on mountaineering which included pictures of the Dubh Loch crags and trawled the internet for any refs . It's not true to life as regards the various climbing pitches etc but I'm glad to hear I captured the essence of it.
