Have not painted for a long time...moved house, had two operations, tried new creative path - enamelling, and glass. But I have Open Studio coming up in a fortnight and just HAD to create a couple of paintings for it. Here is one, a blue one to go beside a table full of blue glass pieces and blue enamelled copper bowls

Jackie! It's so nice to see you back. I hope all is well now and we'll be hearing more from you. This is beautiful and will enhance your glass and enamel work. Please share images from your Open Studio.

Evocative, elegant and beautiful. (I'm a long time lurker and have missed your work. It's nice to see you are okay and stil painting, even if not as much as previously...)

Wow Jackie - this is gorgeous! Such beautiful light, and what sensitivity you have in your pastel strokes.

thanks everyone. I have missed being here. This image is a slight departure from my usual rather more representative style....bordering on abstraction tho I seem to have an inability to entirely let go of 3D form. So it ended up still looking like "me" but just a tad looser!!! My usual draughtmanship is somewhat missing really, as in the one below, but I forced myself to leave it once I felt the shapes were sufficiently realised to say what I wanted to say.
Here is another, done for Open Studio. If anyone wants to see the other work I have done for Open Studio, probably best to visit me on Facebook, under my own name you will find some of the pieces, scroll down, there will be a selection. I dont think I can show enamels or glass here on a pastels forum.

I like the new, looser version of your style, Jackie, and it's so good to see your work here again! The edges of the irises are defined with just a few strokes of highlight color here and there. I really like that effect and the way it invites us to explore the lesser defined areas as well.

Donna, I could not resist those frilly edges! They really "say" Iris, don't they.
